Calling all Bears, Cubs, Otters, and Other Critters

The fur flies again! Ron Suresha is soliciting submissions for BEAROTICA 2: MORE HOT, HAIRY, HEAVY FICTION, a collection of all-new erotic fiction for and about Bears and the creatures that desire them, to be published in 2004 by Alyson Publications. We’re looking for well-written, raw sex encounters, as well as moments of tender intimacy, between masculine men with heart.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR BEAROTICA 2
(PLEASE READ CAREFULLY):

  1. Submission deadline: July 1, 2003.
  2. Previously published material will not be considered.
  3. We want well-written, thoughtful, erotic stories of hot, hairy, heavy sex between men: familiarize yourself first with the fiction in the first volume of Bearotica, then give us a developed, completely unique story, with real characters, settings, and action details. Don’t just throw together some big, hairy, and/or bearded men in a sex scene: show us how Bears court, rut, and mate. Each story should have a clear beginning, middle, and end; should fully depict authentic characters with as much interior passion as raging hormones; and should build a sensual description of the sexual environment, encounter, and aftermath. Realistic dialogue – not just grunts and moans – with feeling and humor is strongly encouraged.
  4. Manuscript (MS) should be typed, double-spaced MS pages, preferably in Courier or other monospaced font, 1” margins all around. 6,500 words maximum. Name (and pseudonym, if used), mailing address, phone number(s), e-mail address, word count, and a 50-word bio should all appear on a separate front page. If you’re unfamiliar with MS preparation, please refer to a style manual (or ask) first. Authors will be advised to provide electronic formatting upon acceptance.
  5. Include SASE with sufficient postage to return manuscript. Non-USA submissions must include sufficient IRCs. Submissions sans return postage will be recycled unread. If you’d like us to recycle your MS, please state so in your cover letter and enclose a business-size SASE for reply. If you wish to be notified of receipt of your MS, please include SASPostcard or an e-mail address.
  6. No kill fee. Remuneration, including monetary payment and contributor’s copies, to be negotiated, depending on number of stories selected.
  7. Contributors need not be Bears (or even men) themselves. Non-USA contributors with strong English contemporary storytelling skills especially encouraged to submit work showing Bears at Play in other cultures and countries.
